Visiting
Visitors are welcome, but please get in touch before hand (Richard
on 0410 60 1261) to confirm the meeting is on.
Hubertus Country Club has granted us control of the immediate
area around the battle during meetings. It is a condition of entry
into that area that attendees agree to follow the safety rules
of the Australian Battle Group, including signing a waiver and
the wearing of ANZS 1337 Medium Impact compliant industrial safety
glasses with side protection when cannon are live. A limited supply
of compliant safety glasses will be available for loan.
Joining the Sydney Battle Squadron
The Sydney Battle Squadron is a sub-group of the Australian Battle
Group. To be a member of the Sydney Battle Squadron you need to
be a member of the Australian Battle Group. That said, we are
actively recruiting and seek to get as many ships on the water
as possible. The existing members are only too happy to help you
with deciding what ships to build and their construction. Contact
one of the members for more information.

The Victorian Battle Squadron "Battleship
X" attempts to force Sydney's USS Alabama to break off her
attack on a Canberra T2 class Tanker, firing into Alabama as the
Alaba fires into the tanker

Again Battleship X punishes USS Alabama for focusing
on the tanker, hitting her hard below 'B' turret

Not that it helps the tanker a great deal.
But she tried

And paid the price once USS Alabama was no longer
distracted
Battles are competitive and battle meetings can be fairly intense, as each side works hard to dominate the
battlefield. This is great fun, but does not give us much time to get to know each other, nor to discuss the
finer points of combat or ship construction.
To give us the time to have a good chat and to enable members to help each
other get their ships on the pond, we have started a series of
"Building" Meetings. These are intended to be a more relaxed sort
of meeting, time to get to know each other, discuss the finer
points of the hobby and help members get vessels on the pond.
All our vessels are custom built for the hobby and understanding what needs to be done to build a vessel and how to
actually do it can be a bit of an obstacle. These meetings are intended to make it as easy as possible to get a vessel
on the pond and working well.
Building Meetings are held weekly in at Richard's place in West Pennant Hills.
