VNS Strasbourg
Second ship of the Dunkerque class, Strasbourg was the last
battlecruiser ever built. Unfortunately, due to the fall of France, she never
had a chance to show what she was capable. After the fall of France she escaped
from the British at Mers-el-Kebir and reached Toulon safely. There she sat out
the war until she was scuttled in 1942 when the Germans moved to occupy the whole
of France.
Our Strasbourg was built by Steven Burden for Bill Kirwan on a
Bowning Shipyard hull. She was
commissioned at the ???.
VNS Strasbourg is currently owned by Bill Kirwan of the Canberra
Battle Squadron.
